My name is Mark Palmer. I’m a software engineer and former tech CEO. The name Techno Sapien was my wife’s idea, a spin on “Homo Sapien,” which means “Wise Human.” It’s about how technology can amplify our humanity.

I write to make sense of technology. We fear it will take our jobs, when it can create better ones. We think it’s about math, when it’s really about creativity. We see it as a tool for automation, when it should be a tool for making better decisions.

This writing is free. If you choose to subscribe for a fee, I donate all of it to charity. Technology has given me a fortunate career. It helped me support my family, especially after my wife died of cancer at 43. Now, my writing supports the hospice that supported us, Care Dimensions. You can read more about that here.

I publish about one essay a month. If you are new to my work, here are a few places to start:

If these ideas interest you, I hope you will subscribe, and connect on LinkedIn.
